A Dog-Friendly Campsite

Newberry Valley Park in North Devon is a truly dog-friendly campsite...

As dog-owners ourselves, we've tried to cover all the important factors that need to be addressed when taking your dog with you on a camping, touring caravan or motorhome holiday .

Let's face it... they are very special family members, aren't they?

You'll find a dog-wash area close to the main amenities block where you can swill off your dog's feet or give him a quick shower after a visit to the beach.

Whilst on site we ask that your dogs remain on leads at all times. This minimises any risk even if your pooch is very well socialised and never harmed a fly!

Only five minutes walk from the park entrance and you are down on Newberry Beach. Here your dog can roam off-lead and enjoy the seaside too.

Other beaches in the region which accept dogs in the summer season include Saunton Sands and Lee Bay, with restricted access to Woolacombe, Combe Martin, Croyde and Putsborough beaches.

It goes without saying, but we'll say it anyway... we expect all dog owners to be responsible and to clean up after their dogs at all times. From experience, we also ask that any children taking the family dog for a walk on-site should be able to control the dog fully and also should be willing and able to clean up any mess.

Ticked off!

Pardon the pun, but the countryside of North Devon and Exmoor has a high proportion of ticks due to the large numbers of deer and sheep around.

We are used to it here and it is not a major problem or anything to worry about, especially if you follow the guidance on our specially prepared tick information leaflet available when you book in at reception.
