- gaining safe and effective knife skills
Saturday evening will be spent around the fire once again to conclude the day. Any budding musicians are encouraged to bring their instruments for a bit of acoustic jamming.
Then Sunday morning you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast and pack up to head back home filled with fond memories and a great sense of wellbeing.
An Afternoon with Essential Oils
Saturday 4th May 2019
1.30pm till 4.30pm
£15 per person
In this afternoon workshop you will have the opportunity to get introduced to a collection of oils, then enjoy some individual play time and exploration, with a meditation. The event will last approx 3 hours including time for a refreshments.
As a group we will create and hold a safe, neutral space to delve deeply into and fully return from meditation. In meditation you can look within and take the time and space to hear the wisdom of your heart, then take forward into your life a restored connection to self, to nature and to the Earth. Bringing in pure energies of essential oils, you can work intuitively and/or based loosely on the chakra system. Then take the opportunity to use and integrate these elemental energies to trigger personal shifts and transformation.
Hosted by Dawn Fletcher, she is an advocate for natural health and empowerment and has a beautiful collection of essential oils just waiting to be shared with you. The cosy space located on site at Newberry Valley has a lovely energy and is designated to work which benefits the body, mind and soul. The natural beauty of the land here generously lends itself to deeper contemplative awareness.
It will be a small group with a maximum of 12 people.
Forage and Cook Course
Saturday 11th May 2019
10am till 4pm
£60 per person including lunch
There's so much abundance in the valley and so we thought it would be fab to call in the experts for a day to teach us all about wild food and foraging.
The tutors are part of the professional foraging team from Totally Wild UK and they have the knowledge and experience to show you the ins and outs of foraging and wild food. You'll head out to discover the vast array of wild edibles lying around here on-site, learn the do’s and don’ts of general foraging as well as picking up great tips and information on identification, edibility and uses of plants, fungi and seaweeds that can be found. You will get the chance to try up to 30 pre made tasters from infusions to jams, chutneys, salt pickles, syrups, salts and herb mixes.
During your walk you will harvest a range of wild ingredients to be cooked up in to a wild inspired lunch for all the group to enjoy before recapping on the session, dependent on the season and what's available.
It will be a small group with a maximum of 15 people, giving you the opportunity to ask any questions and learn from these professionals.
