We've specially selected some of the most beautiful beaches within 30 minutes of Newberry Valley Park.

We've listed all the relevant amenities and a link to Google Maps to help you navigate there. Plus, there's a little tip to help you get the best out of your time at the beach.

So, whether you enjoy lazing in the sun, dipping in the sea on a hot summer day, exploring rock pools, testing your balance on a SUP, quietly relaxing, or playing family games galore... there’s something for everyone on the beaches around Newberry Valley Park.

Woolacombe Beach

A really stunning golden beach

  • Type: Sand and surf

  • Distance from Newberry Valley: 26 mins drive

  • Parking: By the beach or along Marine Drive

  • Dogs: Restricted to certain areas - check signage

  • Amenities: Toilets, restaurants, bars and shops nearby

  • Google Map Location: Woolacome Beach
     

  • Our pro tip: Get there early during the summer as you may be queuing on the roads.

Combe Martin Beach

Fabulous for kayaking & rock pooling

  • Type: Sand, stony, and rockpools galore!

  • Distance from Newberry Valley: 5 mins walk

  • Parking: Leave the car and walk or park by the beach

  • Dogs: No dogs between 1 May and 31 September

  • Amenities: Toilets, pubs, cafes, and shops nearby

  • Google Map Location: Combe Martin Beach

  • Our pro tip: On a clear evening head down to the beach to watch the fabulous sunsets.

Saunton Sands

Amazing dunes leading onto the beach

  • Type: Sand and surf

  • Distance from Newberry Valley: 31 mins drive

  • Parking: By the beach 

  • Dogs: Allowed all year but on leads in front of beach huts

  • Amenities: Toilets, cafe, and shops nearby

  • Google Map Location: Saunton Sands

  • Our pro tip: Allow plenty of time as driving through Braunton can be very slow in the summer.

Newberry Beach

Lovely sheltered bay and so close

  • Type: Pebbly, sand, and rocks

  • Distance from Newberry Valley: 4 mins walk

  • Parking: Leave the car behind and walk down

  • Dogs: Allowed all year

  • Amenities: Toilets, pubs, cafes, and shops in the village

  • Google Map Location: Newberry Beach

  • Our pro tip: Easily accessed from our site - just walk down the pathway opposite our entrance.

Croyde Beach

Big waves for fantastic surfing

  • Type: Sand and surf

  • Distance from Newberry Valley: 33 mins drive

  • Parking: By the beach 

  • Dogs: No dogs between 1 May and 31 September

  • Amenities: Toilets, restaurants, bars, and shops nearby

  • Google Map Location: Croyde Beach

  • Our pro tip: Croyde often has rip tides, so be careful, especially with young children.

Barricane Beach

Pretty little beach & ideal for young children

  • Type: Pebbly, sand and rocks

  • Distance from Newberry Valley: 24 mins drive

  • Parking: On the road along the Esplanade

  • Dogs: Permitted Oct to April and on a lead from May to Sept

  • Amenities: Toilets nearby and cafe on the beach

  • Google Map Location: Barricane Beach

  • Our pro tip: Treat yourself to a delicious curry at the cafe in the evenings served between 5 pm and 7 pm.

Putsborough Beach

Big waves for fantastic surfing

  • Distance from Newberry Valley: 33 mins drive

  • Parking: By the beach 

  • Dogs: Restricted to certain areas - check signage

  • Amenities: Toilets, cafe, and shop nearby

  • Google Map LocationPutsborough Beach

  • Our pro tip: Getting to Putsborough can be quite challenging as the lanes are very narrow.

Lee Bay

Great rockpools in this little bay

  • Type: Pebbly, sand, and rocks

  • Distance from Newberry Valley: 20 mins drive

  • Parking: There is a small car park opposite the beach

  • Dogs: Allowed all year

  • Amenities: Pubs and cafes in the village

  • Google Map LocationLee Bay

  • Our pro tip: Enjoy a delicious cream tea or pub lunch as you drive through the village.

Broadsands Beach

Quaint beach off the beaten track

  • Type: Sandy

  • Distance from Newberry Valley: 30 mins walk

  • Parking: Very limited 

  • Dogs: Allowed all year 

  • Amenities: None

  • Google Map LocationBroadsands Beach

  • Our pro tip: This lovely little beach is accessible by approx 200 steps or by kayak only.
